KiOna Wilson

I became a counselor because I know how meaningful it can be to have a space where you can be fully yourself, feel heard, and know that your experiences matter. I’ve always believed that there is more to a person than what they’re going through in a difficult moment, and that sometimes we simply need the right space and support to reconnect with ourselves.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP), I created Keyed In Counseling with that belief at the heart of it. My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can take off the mask, explore what’s underneath, and work toward becoming more connected to who you are and where you want to go.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to have all the answers before you walk through the door.

You deserve a space where you can be heard, understood, and truly keyed in to yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started with counseling?

The process begins with a free and brief 15-minute consultation to ensure a good therapeutic fit. Following this, you will receive our digital intake forms via a secure portal. Once completed, we will schedule your initial diagnostic session.

What should I expect during the first session?

Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to explore your history, current challenges, and goals for therapy. It’s a collaborative space where we set the foundation for your healing journey in a safe and supportive professional environment.

Do you offer culturally sensitive care?

Yes, I provide inclusive therapy with a specific focus on the unique experiences of Black individuals and people of color. My approach is rooted in understanding intersectional identities and providing trauma-informed support.

How long does each therapy session last?

Standard individual therapy sessions typically last for 50 minutes. This provides ample time to process current events, work on specific therapeutic techniques, and discuss progress toward your identified mental health goals.

How frequent are the counseling sessions?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a therapeutic rapport. As progress is made, we may move to bi-weekly sessions depending on your specific needs and long-term health goals.
